PROJECT: Lentzier Creek Pump Station, Gravity Interceptor & Force Main Design Project
OWNER: Jeffersonville Sewer Board
Original Contract Date: September 15, 2011
Original Contract Amount: $125,000
CURRENT ISSUES:
1. Engineering Design Changes - During the final design phase of the Lentzier Creek Pump
Station, the City requested changes to the layout of the pumping station that altered the design of
the wet well, valve vault and force main cross - connection structure.
2. Project Bidding - Near the completion of the project, it was determined that the projects
would be better suited to be built in 3 separate phases. As such, this required separating the
completed plans into 3 separate divisions and bidding 3 separate projects with separate
specifications and contract documents. With this change, the bidding process was lengthened
and the number of bids to be reviewed was increased.
3. Property Acquisition - During the property acquisition phase of this project, JTL and City
representatives have met with various property owners and made extensive changes to easements
and property acquisition for a successful completion of this project.
4. SRF Assistance & PER Modifications - During the PER review process of this project,
numerous changes have occurred to satisfy SRF and environmental review agencies approval.
Similarly, after bidding these projects, JTL prepared a Green Business Case for the Lentzier
Creek Pump Station to seek a 0.5% reduction in the SRF loan interest rate for the entire project
for a cost savings of more than $700,000.
