JEFFERSONVILLE POLICE MERIT COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
JULY 10, 2012
President Dennis Henry called the Jeffersonville Merit Commission meeting to
order at 6:00 P.M. in the City Hall, Jeffersonville, Indiana. The followin g members were
present: President Dennis Henry, Vice - President Stuart Robertson, Secretary Bonnie
Deppert, Clay "Beany" Smith, Jeff Esarey, Attorney Robert Bottorff and Stenographer
Patty Rush.
Present Henry presented the minutes from May 22, 2012 and June 12, 2012.
Mr. Smith made motion to approve the minutes from May and June meetings, motion
seconded by Mr. Esarey. Voted 5 -0
President Henry presented a bill from Office Supply in the amount of $23.60 for
recording tapes. Mr. Esarey made motion to pay the bill to Office Supply and seconded
by Mr. Robertson. Voted 5 -0
President Henry presented bill from Attorney Bottorff, Invoice #2293 in the
amount of $1,431.50 for legal services for the month of May. Mr. Smith made motion to
pay Invoice #2293 and seconded by Mr. Robertson. Voted 5 -0
President Henry presented bill from Attorney Bottorff, Invoice #2546 in the
amount of $830.68 for legal services for the month of June. Mr. Robertson made motion
to pay Invoice 2546 and seconded by Mr. Esarey. Voted 5 -0
President Henry reviewed the Hiring Procedures for the next process; reviewing
and qualifications for new candidates for the Jeffersonville Police Department with the
Commission members.
President Henry read the letter from Chief Chris Grimm to notify the Commission
that Eric Godbout had resigned from the Jeffersonville Police Department. The next
candidate from the applicant eligibility list will be Charles Richardson and was advised
that he is not longer interested in the position. The next candidate will be Scott
Anderson.
Mr. Smith made motion for notification list for two (2) years which will expired
on August 10, 2012 to Safety Works Board and seconded by Ms. Deppert. Voted 5 -0
President Henry read letter to Chief Chris Grimm from President Henry the three
(3) candidates to fill the first of four (4) vacancies for the rank of Lieutenant. They are
Officer a - .h Hubbard, Officer Chri�,..�Jeding and Officer Russell Settles.
