June 12, 2012
The regular meeting of the Jeffersonville Building Authority was held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at
9:05 a.m. in the conference room on the second floor in the Jeffersonville City Hall.
Present were Building Commissioner Russ Segraves, Board Members Don Sperzel, Bill Fry and Dennis
Julius. Administrative Assistant Susan Robertson was also present.
MINUTES
Mr. Julius made a motion to approve the May 7, 2012 minutes. The motion was seconded by Mr.
Sperzel.
HISTORY & APPROPRIATION REPORTS
Copies of the current History by Appropriation and Detail from Revenue and Budget History Reports
were reviewed. Mr. Segraves informed the Board that the Ron - Reverting Fund was cut by $101,000.00.
ORACLE ELEVATOR
Oracle Elevator informed Mr. Segraves that the battery for the emergency alarm and emergency lighting
system was dead. They also informed him that the circuit board that runs the emergency system was
also bad. Mr. Segraves sent an e-mail to the State asking if a battery pack was required since the
building had a diesel generator that provides complete power for the building which includes the
elevator. Thomas Hendricks, with the State of Indiana, replied by e-mail saying that the battery pack is
needed for emergency lighting. He said there is the issue of the emergency power being added to the
elevator that is an alteration that is required to have an alteration permit and be inspected by a State
Inspector. The Board agreed that it would be better to spend $594.55 for a new emergency lighting.
CLEANING CONTRACT
Mr. Segraves reported that RT Solutions started cleaning City Hall on June 11
PAINTING
The painting that was proposed in the common areas has been put on hold due to budget issues.
FOUNTAIN
Peggy Duffy, with City Pride, will have flowers planted around the fountain this week. The Building
Authority will pay for the flowers in the amount of $250.00. Mr. Segraves was not sure if the treatment
that Water Energizers is doing on the fountain is helping. Mr. Fry said he looked at the fountain when
he came in for the meeting and thought the fountain looked good.
