HomeMy WebLinkAboutJune 18, 2012 Workshop JEFFERSONVILLE CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP Monday June 18th, 2012 City Hall, Mayor's Conference Room The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville met in a workshop on Monday June 18th, 2012. Council Vice President Connie Sellers called the workshop to order at 6:00 P.M. and on the roll call members present was Councilpersons Nathan Samuel, Bryan Glover, Zach Payne, Lisa Gill, Mike Smith, Dennis Julius, and Matt Owen. Absent: Council President Ed Zastawny. Guests present: Mayor Moore, City Engineer Andy Crouch, JTL representative Josh Hillman, Council Attorney Scott Lewis SIDEWALKS City Engineer Andy Crouch presented a five year master plan to improve and create city sidewalks in various parts of the city for discussion among the council. Mr. Crouch presented a list of streets and areas that are prioritized from public discussion as well as additional projects that he thought would be projects g beneficial to the city. Mr. Crouch presented the estimated cost for the first year projects to be $230,000. Mr. Crouch discussed the various maps and also pictures for four additional sidewalk and curb replacement projects. After various discussions concerning the placement of some of the sidewalks around the city, Mr. Crouch pointed out that not only were the streets in need of sidewalks selected by the public, but majority of them also connect to main throughways and schools. He also stated that these first year projects do not include right -of -way acquisition and benefits little amount of financial planning. Councilperson Julius stated that he would present this to The Redevelopment Commission for funding since the Commission originally commissioned the five year plan.
