BEFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL
FOR THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
STATE OF INDIANA
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF PURCHASE OF LAND FOR
PURPOSES OF CONSTRUCTING POLICE HEADOUARTERS
WHEREAS, the Jeffersonville Common Council (hereinafter called `the Council") s the
fiscal body for the City of Jeffersonville (hereinafter called `the City");
WHEREAS, the City has, or may have in the future, need for more space to e pand
municipal facilities for the provision of municipal services and functions and specificall , the
need for a new police headquarters;
WHEREAS, the purchase of real estate is necessary to construct a new •lice
headquarters;
WHEREAS, the City has determined the real estate as described in attached Exhibi "A"
may be suitable for the constructibn of a new police headquarters;
WHEREAS, J.C. 36-1- 10.5 -5 requires the Council, as the fiscal body, to ad pt a
resolution indicating its interest in the making a purchase of specified land;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Jeffersonville Common
Council has an interest in purchasing the real estate as described in attached Exhibit "A ".

described as follows: Beginning at a stone on
the Northwest corner of Lot No. 4 of the par-
tition of the real estate of William Bowman,
deceased, as shown in Probate Order Book 0, at
page 523 in the office of the Clerk of the
Clark Circuit Court, in Survey No. 11; thence
N. 49 30' E. 1006.0 feet to a point; thence
N. 40 00' W. 1026.6 feet to a right -of -way
marker on the east right -of -way line of State
Road No. 62; thence 5. 17 38' W. 287.44 feet
to a right -of -way marker, being the TRITE POINT
OF BEGINNING; thence S. 22 44' W. 253.60 feet
to an iron pin; thence S. 40 E. 191.18 feet
to an iron pin; thence N. 22 44' E. 258.97
feet to an iron pin; thence N. 41 27' W.
188.78 feet to the true point of beginning,
containing 1.00 acres more or less, but sub-
ject to all legal highways.
