HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-OR-68 ORDINANCE NO. 2011.ORiM AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARIES OF ELECTED OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, CLARK COUNTY, INDIANA, COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2012 WHEREAS, IC 36- 1- 2 -6(3) designates the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville as the Fiscal Body of said city, and WHEREAS, IC 36- 1- 2 -9(3) designates the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville as the Legislative • Body of said city, NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, CLARK COUNTY, INDIANA SECTION I. This Ordinance shall set forth the annual compensation payable to elected officials of the City of Jeffersonville for the calendar year of 2012. SECTION II. From and after the first day of January 2012, the following elected officials of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana shall receive the following annual compensation: General Fund Mayor 64,000.00 City Clerk 42,000.00 City Court Judge 36,236.00 Council President 15,000.00 Councilpersons (8) 13,000.00 Sewage Department Mayor 15,000.00 Mayor, Sewage Board Member 5,000.00 City Court Probation User Fund City Court Judge 18,090.00 Section III A. Longevity Pay. All Non -Union full -time employees hired before January 1, 2012 will receive $200 per year for each year of service. Employees must work 3 full years before he /she is eligible for longevity pay which will begin on January 1 following their 3 year anniversary with a maximum longevity pay of $4,000 pay for any employee employed in excess of twenty (20) years. Section III B. Holiday Pay. All Non -Union full time employees will receive fourteen (14) paid holidays at current daily rate. Section III C. Cell Phone and Take Home Vehicles. Department Heads determine who on their staff requires cell phones to complete the duties of the job. Employees may elect to receive a $35 per month stipend In lieu of receiving a cell phone on the city wide cell plan. Employees eligible for take home 1 vehicles will be governed by the City Vehicle Policy. All current IRS regulations governing take home vehicles will apply in calculating compensation relating to personal use of the vehicle. Section 111D. Retirement Funding. The state of Indiana P.E.R.F. specifies the employer share required by to be paid by City of Jeffersonville to fund the respective employee retirement accounts. In addition, Council has approved the payment o f the 375 employee share. Any voluntary additional contribution made by employees will be permitted at the employee's election. Employees will be able to elect contributions once each year during open enrollment. Section IV. This ordinance shall be in adopted after passage by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville and approved by the Mayor of the City of Jeffersonville, or timely override of his veto. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect as of January 1, 2012.
