• MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
APRIL 8, 2009
In Mayor Galligan's absence Planning and Zoning Director Urban called the meeting to order at 9:30
a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson.
Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury sat in as a voting member of the Board.
Also present were: Assistant Police Chief Grimes, Human Resources Director Calabro, Vehicle
Maintenance Director Drury, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Parks Director Manor, Assistant Fire
Chief Grant, Fire Chief Harrod, IT Director Hardy, Safety Director Lovan, Redevelopment Director
Robinson, Sewer Office Manager Mattingly, Executive Assistant Young, Building Commissioner
Segraves, Safety Director Mongarella, WWTP Superintendent Ashack, WWTP Asst. Superintendent
Kearney, Planning and Zoning Director Urban, Street Commissioner Hosea, Communications Director
Thomas, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
OLD BUSINESS
TENTH STREET TRASH
Engineer Miller said trash is still being dumped off of Tenth Street and Herb Lewis Road.
Building Commissioner Segraves said the owner has been cited. Putting up cables or barriers
in the right of way was discussed. Street Commissioner Hosea said he has been in contact
with the owner and is going to clean up the trash for $200.00 and has erected a "no dumping
$500.00 fine" sign. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve cleaning up the trash and
putting up cables, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
MEMORIAL WALK
Kim Florence asked permission to hold the annual Memorial Walk in honor of her son on
Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Warder Park from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Councilperson Wilson
made the motion to approve the request, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried
unanimously.

KENTUCHIANA YACHT SALES
Planning and Zoning Director Urban said Kentuckiana Yacht Sales is seeking permission to
transport oversize boats for 2009. There are concerns about the route that is being taken to do
this. After discussion, Engineer Miller made the motion to table this until next week,
seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:55 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
