HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-10-2008• MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA DECEMBER 10, 2008 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson. Also present were: Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Human Resources Director Calabro, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Asst. Fire Chief Decker, Executive Asst. Young, Street Commissioner Hosea, Parks Director Manor, Growth Coordinator Lovan, Police Chief Deeringer, Communications Director Thomas, Sewer Office Manager Mattingly, Purchase Order Clerk Smith, Fire Chief Harrod, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Planning and Zoning Director Urban, IT Director Hardy, Assistant Planning Director Crouch, Asst. Police Chief Pavey, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the minutes of 12-03-08 as presented, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS FLAGS Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve allowing Fred Moore to place 400 plus flags around City Hall on Memorial Day 2009, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. RANK CHANGE Engineer Miller made the motion to approve changing the rank of Fireman Shawn Grant from Captain to Lieutenant, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. NO OUTLET SIGN Jason Schlatter requested a "no outlet" sign on Thompson Lane. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the sign, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. HOLE IN RAIL ON SECOND STREET BRIDGE Executive Assistant Young said she was told there is a hole in the railing on the Second Street Bridge big enough for a person to fall through. The police department will check it out and notify the state. There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Councilperson Wilson made the motion to adjourn the meet~}g at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Engineer Miller and carried ~T ST: • CLE REASURER •
