Distributed Previous Meeting Minutes MAC has not been paid for Pay Request #1. HDR remmed reviewed Headworks Resteel Drawings to MAC. HDR discussed and approved modifying the grit chamber walls to match the existing grit chambers. There will be no additional cost for this modification. 2) Contractors Update on Progress Previous 30 davs Auger Cast Pile Installation is completed. Gravity Thickener W alls are completed. There is one placement for the effluent box remaining then all concrete will be completed. Lower Slab placed at Headworks Building. Clarifier is excavated to approximately Elev. 440. Work on this stmcmre is "on hold" currently. Leak repaired on existing plant effluent line near Effluent Box. Next 30 davs Install yard piping and piping connections at New Gravity Thickener. • Place walls and related stmcmres at New Headworks Building. • Place foundation and related stmcmres for New Effluent Stmcture. 3) Contractors Pay Request Received Contractor's Pay Request #2. Transmitted to City of Jeffersonville for processing. Jeffersonville W WTP 50% Expansion June t9, 2008 Page 2 of 2 4) Engineer Observations • HDR noted concrete placements look acceptable. There are some minor defects which need correction. MAC to "bush out" a few small honeycombs a[ Gravity Thickener. The honeycomb needs [o be removed down to well consolidated concrete and the void fills with non-shrink grout. Bonding agent should be applied before grouting. • There is also an azea of voidPooneycombs in the New Headworks Slab. MAC to repair with a similar method. • HDR discussed requirements for concrete finishing. All exposed to view surfaces from 1' below liquid level and 1' below grade should be "Clean Grout Finished" with Thoroseal. HDR noted that there is not Thoroseal on existing stmcmres. The Owner may want to consider a "deduct" for this work item. • "Smooth Form Finish" should be applied to all other surfaces (below grade and below liquid level). This means "fix defects." HDR stated their standazd was any void larger than approximately %' should be grout filled after fins removed. • HDR questioned what the cage lengths were on the auger cast piles which were shortened approximately 6' due to grade differential. MAC responded the cages were submerged deeper in the pile to accommodate for the shortening. 5) New Clarifier • MAC discussed their proposed alternative to install rock anchors to support the foundation of the New Clarifier in lieu of excavating and installing the support stmc[ure shown on the Plans. MAC is in negotiation with several rock drilling firms. MAC requested their sub, once selected, be allowed to discuss the foundation design with HDR's Sfiucmral Subconsultant. MAC has submitted a Change Order Proposal in the amount of $182,000.00 to remove approximately 7,000 CY of material, store at an offsite location, and refill the material once the Clazifier is completed. MAC indicated the rock anchor option would most likely be a $75k savings versus this option (net add of $107,000.00). • HDR stated [his decision needs [o be approved by the Owner. They discussed [he rock anchor option with their Structural Subconsultant. Until MAC selects a rock anchor installer, their Stmctural Subconsultant can not proceed with any design work. HDR noted they would need additional fee to re-design the Clarifier Foundation. The final rock anchor design would be the responsibility of the rock anchor installer. HDR would be responsible for the slab and concrete stmcmres only. • MAC requested the issue be presented to the Owner at the next Council Meeting. HDR noted they needed 2-4 weeks to re-design the clarifier.
