EXECUTIVE SUMMARY MONTHLY OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE REPORT January 2008 r-- i . ~ Following are summaries for operation and maintenance at the wastewater treatment plant, and maintenance of the collection system and lift stations for the month of January, 2008. - ~ Plant r ~.. >- Effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits. . >- Removal percentages for the month, BOD 99.1 %, TSS 97.5%, and NH3 99.4%. >- Settleable solids averaged 531 mg/l for the month. Settleability is good, starting to increase due to the weather. >- There were 19 wet days (defined as a day having at least 0.1 inch ofrainfall and three days afterward) resulting in an average plant flow of 5.753 MGD, and 12 dry days with an average flow of 4.241 MGD. The total monthly flow for the plant was 78% of the design flow. >- The facility received an average influent BOD loading of 9,908 lbs/day, (Design - 12,210 lbs/day) >- The facility received an average influent TSS of 13,994 lbs/day; (Design - 11,660 lbs/day) >- The facility received an average influent Ammonia of758 lbs/day, (Design - 1,501Ibs/day) >- The maximum rainfall event during the month was on January 10 at 0.8 inches. Total monthly rainfall for the month of January was 3.3 inches. >- Plant is operating well. r i r Pretreatment r Renewed Industrial Discharge Permit for Cargo Clean. Did not renew permit for Indiana- American Water due to changes they made in their operations. They no longer discharge their filter backwash sludge to the sanitary sewer. Lift stations and Collection System Lift stations and collection system . Crews cleaned and vactored 9, 144ft. of sanitary sewers. (YTD 75110 ft) . Crews cleaned and vactored 6,575 ft. of storm! CSO. (YTD 73789 ft.) . Crews televised 2,821 ft. of sewer lines. (YTD 19988 ft.) . Crews cleaned and vactored 0 C/B and 0 C/B tops., . All 23 trouble spots were cleaned and or checked during the month. . In the month of August crews maqe 37 sewer calls, 34 being residents and or other problems and 3 being the city's lines. . 778 Rose crews got with Bob G. to repair this line it has a belly in it. . 1117 Cedarview Dr. crew cleaned 25' from C/O out to main line. . 1607 Kehoe Ln. crew cleaned and vactored 500' several times to remove build up of grease. . 1010 Robin Dr. crew cleaned 150' to try and help resident they would need a plumber. . 1040 Kehoe Ln. crew cleaned 200' to try and help resident they would need a plumber. Collection crews worked with different departments of the city on various proj ects and on a few Business jobs around town. . Crews televised 36' at726E. ih St to locate tap for Bob M. . Crews worked several days at 778 Rose Ave with Bob G. crew televised 383' to check for crew laser and for taps city laying new line. . Crews televised 146' at 909 Morris Ave to locate tap for Jerry C. . Crew televised 255' to locate tap for Jerry C. . Crews worked several days with John H. from Strand Assoc. on CSO telog. . Crews worked vactoring out wet well at River Port 2 station Construction Company had a business backed up. Collection crews street pre-maintenance schedule . All lift stations floats, switches, pumps, alarms, electrical and mechanical components were cleaned, exercised and inspected for proper operations. . Generators at Mill Creek, Spring St and lOth St were inspected, operated and exercised for proper operations. . Crews pulled pump 2 at Crums Ln. 2 had a bad breaker and power cable took to Spencers for repair. . Crews pulled pump 1 at Crums Ln 2 removed rags tested inspected put back on line. . Crews pulled pump 1 at Old Stoner took to Spencers for repairs. . Crews pulled pump 1 out of Filtrate Station took to Spencers for repairs also Guide Rails. . Crews worked with Delta Services at 10th St. on pump 5 electric. . Crews worked with Delta Services at 10th St on fuses and wiring from SCADA to Generator. . Crews took pump 1 from Old Stoner back to Spencers for more repairs. . Crews opened pump 1 at Mill Creek 7 times to remove rags and debris tested inspected put back on line. . .Crews cleaned bar screens as needed. Repairs made in the collection system . Crews installed new rebuilt pump 2 at Crums Ln 2 tested put on line. . Crew repaired handle on disconnect to Filtrate Station pump 1. . Jack Doheny crew installed new Boom Tube on Mack vactor truck. . Crews installed S.S. rails on pumpl in Filtrate Station. . Crews installed new water tank on Boom Truck was under warranty. . Crews repaired a portable 3" pump. . Crews worked with Delta Services on Add A Phase at Old Stoner a mouse shorted out breaker and wires to pump :2 Contactor. . Crews replaced breaker to pump2. at Crums Ln 2. r r r r- ~ , r' Jeffersonville Wastewater Treatment Facility Monthly Operations Report During December, effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits for CBOD, TSS and NH-3. Table 1.1 summarizes the effluent quality data. Attachment A contains Time Series Plots of Carbonaceous Biochemical Oxygen Demand (CBOD) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) values. All parameters were will within IDEM limits. Average influent flow was 78% of plant design capacity. Removal rates for the month were BOD removal- 99.1 %, TSS removal ~97.5%, Ammonia removal-99.4%. 3.1 PRETREATMENT Pretreatment activities for the month included the following: Renewed Industrial Discharge Permit for Cargo-Clean. Did not renew permit for Indiana American water due to changes in their operations.
