HomeMy WebLinkAbout09 Agreement for Project Funds - RedevelopmentThis Agreement made and entered into this _j ~ day of~~ 1996 by and between the Department of Redevelopment of the Town of Clarksville Indi ,hereinafter referred to as "CLARKSVII.LE" and the Department of Redevelopment of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, hereinafter referred to as "JEFFERSONVILLE", WHEREAS, "CLARKSVII.LE" and "JEFFERSONVILLE", on December 11, 1995, adopted an Interlocal Agreement to construct the Intercity Road to Link the two municipalities, and, ._ WHEREAS, such a roadway linking said municipalities will require the participation of "CLARKSVILLE" and "JEFFERSONVII,LE"," and WHEREAS, said Interlocal Agreement designates "JEFFERSONVII.,LE " as the lead authority • to develop the project, and. WHEREAS, "7EFFERSONVILLE" will incur costs in the planning, design, and construction of this project, and, WHEREAS, A portion of the project. costs are the responsibility of "CLARKSVII.LE". NOW ,THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein contained, the parties hereto mutually agree as follows: A. PRn.TF,('T T,TMTTS A DF4t'RTPTT[)N The Interlocal Portion of the Intercity Road Project extends from a point on the proposed Intercity Roadway approximately five hundred feet (500') West of I-65, (the normal point of touchdown from the bridge over I-65), to the Easterly Right-of--Way line of Hamburg Pike, for a total distance of approximately three fourths (3/4) mile.. The Project will include the following components: 1. Approximately 500' of approach roadway West of the proposed bridge over I-65. • • 2. Abridge over I-65. 3. Abridge over U.S. 31 and the Conrail Railroad tracks. 4. The Roadway connecting the two above described bridges. 5. A ramp connecting the Intercity Road and U.S. 31 and required improvements to U.S. 31. 6. The Roadway from U.S. 31 to Hamburg Pike, including any required improvements to Hamburg Pike. B. CnST PARTTC'TPATInN "CLARKSVII,LE" and "JEFFERSONVILLE" will share the project development costs consisting of Planning and Design, Construction, and Construction Supervision, on an equal basis. The costs associated with the acquisition of right-of--way will be the responsibility of each municipality within their respective boundaries. No real property will be jointly acquired. Any financial support received for the project from the State of Indiana will be shared equally by the municipalities to offset the total project cost. • C. FSTIMATF,D PR~TF'. T C'nSTS Tn RF CASitTT The Project costs that will be equally shared between "CLARKSVII.LE" and "JEFFERSONVII.,LE" are estimated as follows: Planning and Design _ _- (including Geotechnical Work) _ $ 448,900 Construction and Contingency = $ 6,316,100 Construction Supervision = $ 235 000 TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST = $ 7,000,000 Based on the above costs, the "CLARKSVII.LE" share of the Total Estimated Project Cost will be $3,500,000, and the "JEFFERSONVII.LE" share of the Total Estimated Project Cost will be $3,500,000. Planning and Design costs will be incurred in 1996 and 1997, and Construction and Construction Supervision will be incurred in 1997 and 1998. • . .. • D, nTSRLTR4F. .NT O S As project costs are incurred by "JEFFERSONVILLE" as the lead agency, "JEFFERSONVILLE" will submit monthly requests to "CLARKSVII,LE" for their share of the costs as the project progresses. The request for funds will be~ submitted to "CLARKSVII.LE" by "JEFFERSONVILLE" one (1) week prior to "CLARKSVILLE's" regularly scheduled meeting. "CLARKSVII.LE" shall then remit the requested funds to "JEFFERSONVII.LE" within five (5) working days of "CLARKSVILLE" approval of the request. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have made and executed this Agreement on the date first mentioned above.
