Fax: 812-285-6454 www.emcinc.com EXECUTIVE SUMMARY MONTHLY OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE REPORT I October 2007 r r i · ! ~Following are summaries for operation and maintenance it the wastewater treatment plant. and maintenance of the collection system and lift stations for the month of October 2007 I I , Plant ~ Effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits. ~ Removal percentages for the month. BOD 98.6%. TSS 98.1 %. and NH3 99.6%. ~ Settle-able solids averaged 209 for the month; stability of Settleable solids is excellent at this time. ~ There were 15 wet days (defined as a day havingat least 0.1 inch of rainfall and three days afterward) resulting in an average plant flow of 6.473 MGD, and 16 dry days with an average flow of 3.706 MGD. The total monthly flow ~ For the plant was 80% of the design flow. ~ The facility received an average influent BOD loading of 13.696 Ibs/day. (design 12210 Ibs/day) ~ The facility received an average influent TSS of 14,587 Ibs/day. (design 11660 Ibs/day) ~ The facility received an average influent Ammonia of 694 Ibs/day. (design 150 I Ibs/day) ~ The maximum rainfall event during the month was on October 22 at 4.25 inches. Total monthly rainfall for the month was 9.3 inches. ~ Plant is operating well. Generators at Mill Creek, Spring St and 10th St were inspected, operated and exercised for proper operations. . Crews pulled Recycle pump in plant and removed stick tested put back on line. . Crews opened pump I at Mill Creek 7 times to remove rags and debris tested inspected put back on line. . Crews worked several days cleaning Digester in the plant. . Crews worked several days oM the Sludge transfer pump controls. . Crews back flushed pumps I &2 at Spring St station. . Crews pulled pump I at Louise St took for repairs. . Crews took contacts apart and deaned at Eastern BLVD station. . Crews put oil in all the pumps pressure switches at 10th St. . I . Crews installed new breakers in electrical panel for ArticSprings station. . Vehicle Maintenance installed wat~r pump on Dodge pickup truck. . Crew took Sludge truck: to Tow Zone to repair tarp motor. . Crews repaired pump rails at Old Stoner station. . Table 1.1 summarizes the effluent quality data. Attachment A contains Time Series Plots of Carbonaceous Biochemical Oxygen Demand (CBOD) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) values. All parameters were will within IDEM limits. Average influent flow was 98.6% of plant design capacity. Jeffersonville Wastewater Treatment Facility Monthly Operations Report 4.1 ELECTRICAL EXPENDITURES i Table 4.6 represents the facility electrical expenditures for the month as well as providing a year to date total. October 16928.40 Year-To-Date Power Share Credit None 5.0 FACILITY SAFETY & TRAINING : A safety inspection was conducted on O~tober 30, 2007. The rating was 99%. Safety Training was held on October 30,2007 the topic was "Crane and Hoist Safety" Part II. 6.0 SEWER COLLECTION SYSTEM AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE Lift stations and collection system . Crews cleaned and vactored 3,968 ft. of sanitary sewers. (YTD 52983 ft) . Crews cleaned and vactor~d 14,202 ft. of storm/ CSO sewers. (YTD 47020 ft) . Crews televised 2,010 ft. of sewer lines. (YTD 10444 ft) . Crews cleaned and vactored 5 C/B and 20 C/B tops. . All 23 trouble spots were cleaned and or checked during the month. . Crews conducted 2 dye tests in the collection system. In the month of October crews made 38 sewer calls, 36 being residents or other problems and 2 being the City's lines. . 1039 Avondale Dr. crews cleaned and vactored 500' to remove buildup of solids full of paper towels . 1519 Elwanger Ave crew's cleaned and vactored 600' to remove buildup of solids.
