Fax: 812-285-6454 www.emcinc.com r , EXECUTIVE SUMMARY MONTHLY OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE REPORT September 2007 i Following are summaries for operation and maintenance at the wastewater treatment plant, and maintenance of the collection system and lift stations for the month of September 2007 Plant r , I r-' ~ Effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits. ~ Removal percentages for the month, BOD 99.1 %, TSS 97.9%, and NH3 99.5%. ~ Settle-able solids averaged 209 for the month; stability of Settleable solids is excellent at this time. ~ There were 10 wet days (defined as a day having at least 0.1 inch of rainfall and three days afterward) resulting in an average plant flow of 4.254 MGD, and 20 dry days with an average flow of 3.564 MGD. The total monthly flow >- For the plant was 60% of the design flow. >- The facility received an average influent BOD loading of 11,808 Ibs/day. (design 12210 Ibs/day) ~ The facility received an average influent TSS of 11,304 Ibs/day. (design 11660 Ibs/day) ~ The facility received an average influent Ammonia of 613 Ibs/day. (design 150 I Ibs/day) ~ The maximum rainfall event during the month was on September 26 at 1.5 inches. Total monthly rainfall for the month was 1.95 inches. >- Plant is operating well. ~ Pretreatment r >- Annual industrial samples were taken at Voss-Clark. ~ Annual industrial inspections were made at Cargo Clean and Pfau's. r t Lift stations and Collection System Lift stations and collection system o Crews cleaned and vactored 6,005 ft. of sanitary sewers. (YTD 49015) o Crews cleaned and vactored 6,712 ft. of storm/CSO sewers. (YTD 32818) o Crews televised 1,493 ft. of sewer lines. (YTD 8434) o Crews cleaned and vactored 3 C/B and 27 C/B tops. o All 23 trouble spots were cleaned and or checked during the month. In the month of September crews made 25 sewer calls 24 being residents or other problems and being city's lines. o 1258 Gail Dr. crews cleaned and vactored 200' to open line, full of roots. o 509 Ohio Ave crews cleaned 250' to try and help resident, will neeq plumber. o 827 Morningside Dr. crews cleaned 82' to try and help resiqent, will need r". Page 2 r, Collection crews worked with different departments of the city on various projects and a few businesses jobs around town. o Crews worked 5 days with Pace Contracting at 10th St installing guide rails and new pump I. o Crews worked with Christiani Contruction and Straeffer pumps at Utica I checking pumps. o Crews monitored stations while Team Contracting installed M/H and Force Main. o Crews worked 2 days with Triton Energy in the plant on #2 Blowers. o Crews worked with Delta Services on the #2 Aerator in plant. o Crews worked with city construction crew installing M/H at 509 Ohio Ave. o Crews cleaned 130' and televised 95' of storm line at 1204 Cedarview for Bob G. o Crews televised 150' to locate buried M/H in Hidden Lakes Subdivision for Jerry C. o Crews cleaned 130' and televised 130' at Glen Abby Rd. to check for feeders showed Bob G. Collection crews street pre-maintenance schedule o Crews cleaned and vactored 2 C/B at Jackson and Market St and 1 C/B on Cedarview. o Crews cleaned and vactored 1,250' on Riverside Dr from Rocky's to Kingfish down Riverpointe o Crews cleaned and vactored I, 100' of the PQ discharge line. o Crews cleaned and vactored 750' of the Dallas Corp. discharge line. o Crews running Teleolog Data on CSO out falls. o Crew vactored out 16 wet wells due to build up of grease and solids. o All CSO gate were greased and exercised. o Crews televised 200' to look at cause of back up at 1258 Gail Dr. roots, used cutter to remove put on tape. o Crews televised 638' to locate 3 taps for residents. o Crews televised 280' at Whitehorse Vale Dr to look for feeders and damages. o Crews cleaned and vactored 2,375' of sewer lines throughout the city. Collection crews station pre-mairltenance schedule o Crews worked 2 days on U-V system in plant. o All lift stations floats, switches, pumps, alarms, electrical and mechanical components were cleaned, exercised and inspected for proper operation. o Crews worked 2 days in plant on U-V system. Crews worked 2 days on Filtrate station in plant. o Crews added oil to pumps at Cedarview station. o Crews pulled pump I at Rolling Ridge found nothing in it inspected and tested put back on line. o Crews opened pump I at Louise St found nothing in it pump keeps going air bound. o Crews cleaned Stillwell and Transducer in Rolling Ridge wet well. o Crew sprayed down wet well at Spring St anq put deodorizer in. o Crews pulled pump I at Mill Creek removed rags in the impellar inspected and tested put back on line. o Crews pulled pump I at Eastbrook possible seal failure checked oil, amps, wiring and relays everything checks O.K. o Crews cleaned the grease out of the Pod at Cedarview station. r-- Page 3 r l o Crews opened pump I at Mill Creek removed a piece of aluminum inspected tested and put back on line. o Crews cleaned bar screens as needed. o Generators at Spring St, Mill Creek and 10th St were inspected, operated and exercised for proper operations. o Crews dropped pump 4 at 10th St off the hook when pulling the pump, pulled so that Pace Contracting could install there scaffolding to replace guide rails. Repairs made in the collection system o Crews took Boom truck to vehicle maintenance to repair air leak. o Crews replaced Alternator and breakers in electric panel at Artic Springs. o Crew repaired wiring in wet well at Artic Springs. o Crew replaced pressure switch on pump I at 10th St. r r I I r l t r ~ . r i r r ~. r r r- t ' , i~ Jeffersonville Wastewater Treatment Facility Monthly Operations Report 1.0 EFFLUENT QUALITY r-' r During September, effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits for CBOD, TSS and NH-3. Table 1.1 summarizes the effluent quality data. Attachment A contains Time Series Plots of Carbonaceous Biochemical Oxygen Demand (CBOD) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) values. Attachment B contains Time Series Plots of Aeration Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids (MLSS) and Sludge Volume Index (SVI). All parameters were will within IDEM limits. Average influent flow was 98.1 % of plant design capacity.
