IlIiI ORSANCO Study Observations
Bacterial Pollutants
E.Coli contamination observed in wet weather
Kentucky bank has higher concentrations than
Indiana bank of Ohio River
Bacterial contamination flushes down river quickly
(1-2 mph)
Tributary concentrations are higher than River
concentrations, even those without CSOs
Bacterial pollution dies off after 1-4 days
River would be contaminated by tributary discharge
even if CSO discharges were eliminated

III ORSANCO Study Observations
Oxygen Consuming Pollutants
. CSO discharges are not causing an observed
concern over oxygen consuming pollutants
Solids Pollutants
CSO discharges are not causing an observed
concern over suspended solids pollutants
