Jeffersonville Wastewater Treatment Facility
Monthly Operations Report
1.0EFFLUENT QUALITY
During June, effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits for CBOD, TSS and NH-3. Table
1.1 summarizes the effluent quality data. Attachment A contains Time Series Plots of
Carbonaceous Biochemical Oxygen Demand (CBOD) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) values.
Attachment B contains Time Series Plots of Aeration Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids (MLSS) and
Sludge Volume Index (SVI).

2.0DESIGN LOADINGS LIMITS

3.0FACILITY OPERATIONS
Attachment D contains a list of septic haulers that discharged at the facility during the month of
June.

Monthly Operations Report
During June, the treatment processes performed very well. All sample parameters were well
within their limits. Settleability of mixed liquor solids has fallen into normal operation ranges.
Ran RAS pump rates for PEH Engineering.
3.1PRETREATMENT
Pretreatment activities for the month included the following:

Performed yearly composite sampling and analysis on Pfau’s and Altec.

Made yearly inspection of Altec.

Met with CSO industries to discuss their reporting procedures.
4.0 SEWER MAINTENANCE CALLS

4.1 MAINTENANCE & REPAIR EXPENDITURES
Maintenance & Repair expenditures are detailed in Attachment E.
4.2 ELECTRICAL EXPENDITURES
Table 4.6 represents the facility electrical expenditures for the month as well as providing a year to
date total.

5.0 FACILITY SAFETY & TRAINING
A safety inspection was conducted on July 2, 2004. The rating was 99%. There were no
deficiencies reported. Our plant is still in excellent shape.
A copy of the Safety Inspection Report is included as Attachment G.
6.0 SEWER COLLECTION SYSTEM AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
In the month of June collection crews made 20 sewer calls, 18 being the resident’s problem and 2
being the city’s fault. At 1544 Ellwanger, crews cleaned 300’ and removed the blockage with no
damage to resident. At 3611 Sawgrass Blvd. the crew cleaned and vactored 370’to remove
blockage with damage to some of Mr. Lt T. Ngo’s basement. As well, 575’ of televising, locating,
cleaning and vactoring was conducted by crews at 5 different areas of the city for feeding and/or
damaged lines city projects. Line televising of 1,005’ was conducted on 2 different days in the
Bonenberger neighborhood for the engineering department. A total of 1,152’ of televising was
th
conducted to locate 6 taps throughout the city. A gas meter and ladder were taken to 10 Street for
J.T.L. crews to get in a manhole for a city project. 17 catchbasin tops were cleaned off throughout
the down town area, and five catchbasins were vactored out for debris and/or repair throughout the
city.
During our street pre-maintenance schedule collections crews completed the trouble spot list with
5,275’ of sewers cleaned in city. Three manholes were cleaned, 2 for build up of solids and 1 for
repairs, also 4 wet wells were vactored out due to grease build up Colonial Park, Crums Ln. 2,
Louise St, Magnolia St. with the others stations not yet needing cleaned. Collection crews also

cleaned 1,050’ of storm drainage at Hwy 62 at Northaven & Applegate Ln. for drainage crew. Bar
screens at 10th St. station were cleaned as needed. 8,664’ of preventative cleaning was conducted
by collections crew throughout neighborhoods & the down town area of the city.
During our stations pre-maintenance schedule our lift stations floats, switches, pumps, alarm
systems, and mechanical and electrical components were inspected, cleaned and exercised for
proper operations, and bug spraying & house keeping was also started . Generators were inspected
and exercised. C.S.O. gates were exercised and greased, communication alarm diagnostic test
were done on 3 stations, and storm ditches in the plant were cleaned with Grade All truck. Grass
cutting and weed-eating and spraying was done as needed.
Repairs were made at Cedarview on pump #1, a flex element & flex hub was installed between
motor and pump. At Crums Ln. 1, pump #1, an overload relay block and a set of 3 overload
heaters were installed, at Crums Ln. 2, pump #1 was pulled for removal of debris. At Ewing Ln.,
the #1 pump was pulled to be rebuilt. New bearings, seals, mechanical seal, balanced impellar and
set clearance.
