ONTHLY PERATION AND AINTENANCE EPORT
February 2007
Following are summaries for operation and maintenance at the wastewater treatment plant, and
maintenance of the collection system and lift stations for the month of February 2007.
Plant
Effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits.
?
Removal percentages for the month, BOD 98.0%, TSS 97.4%, NH3 99.5%
?
Settleable solids averaged 682 mg/l for the month, settlleability is increasing, as it always does
?
during the colder months. This has not caused any operational problems.
There were 14 wet days (defined as a day having at least 0.1 inch of rainfall and three days
?
afterward)resulting in an average plant flow of 7.491 MGD , and 14 dry days with an average flow
of 5.110 MGD. The total monthly flow for the plant was 95% of the design flow.
The facility received an average influent TSS of 17,373 lbs/day. (Design- 11,660 lbs/day)
?
The facility received an average influent Ammonia of 853 lbs/day. (Design- 1501 lbs/day)
?
The facility received and average influent BOD loading of 16,420 lbs/day. (Design- 12,210
?
lbs/day).

The maximum rainfall event during the month was on February 12, 13 and 24 at 1.0 inches. Total
?
monthly rainfall for the month was 3.50 inches.
Palnt is operating well. #1 gravity thickener is off-line due to problems encountered during
?
freezing.
Pretreatment
Badd, Inc. on New Middle Road was visited due to an inquiry made to IDEM. Samples were taken
?
for analysis and we’re awaiting a decision from IDEM.
A trip was made to Jeffboat to follow up on a complaint to IDEM.

Lift stations and Collection System
?
Crews cleaned 9,511 ft. of sanitary sewers. (YTD 89187)
?
Crews cleaned 5,196 ft. of storm/CSO sewers. (YTD 68760)
?
Crews televised 1,059 ft. of sewer lines. (YTD 16059)
?
All 23 trouble spots were cleaned and or checked during the month.
?
Crews cleaned and vactored 2 M/H and 0 C/B.

In the month of February crews made 39 sewer calls 34 being residents or other problems
and 5 being city’s lines.
?
2007 Hamburg Pike crews cleaned 75’ to remove blockage.
?
829 Morningside Dr. crews cleaned 150’ to remove blockage.
?
898 Camelot Ct. crews cleaned 200’ to remove debris in line.
?
1005 French St. crews cleaned 150’ to remove blockage.
?
814 Sandra Dr. crews cleaned 75’ from C/O to main line, full of roots.

1616 E. 8 St. crews cleaned 326’ in all directions to try and help
resident, will need a plumber.
?
725 Wall St. crews cleaned 100’ to try and help Businesses, will need a
plumber.
Collection crews worked with different departments of the city on various projects and a
few businesses jobs around town.

Crews cleaned out 3 floor drains for fire department on Wall St.
?
Crews worked vactoring out M/H and ditch for construction crew on
Chestnut St. and Pearl St. city putting in line from the old River Falls
lounge.

Crews televised storm lines on Marietta Dr. looking for vaults, damages
and blockage for Mike L.
?
Crew vactored out salt mixer for Kenny M. on the street department.
?
Crew televised 165’ again on Ruck Dr. the contractor call Jerry C. said
they couldn’t find the line.
?
Crew televised 107’ at 420 E. Market St. to locate tap for Jay’s
plumbing.
?
Crew televised 15’ in M/H to see how for stub went across the road for
Mike L.
?
Crew vactored out M/H on Hertzsch Rd. for Bob G.
Collection crews street pre-maintenance schedule

Trouble spot list was completed 7,706’of sewer lines cleaned and
vactored.

Crew cleaned and vactored 4,625’of Woodland Ct. for Bob M.
?
Crew vactored out 7 wet wells due to build up of grease and solids.
?
Crew cleaned and vactored 600’ on Larkspur Dr. and Foxglove Dr.
?
Crew cleaned and vactored 550’ in alley of Francis Dr.
?
Crew televised 549’ in alley of Francis Dr. to locate tap at 1506.
?
Crew televised 223’ to locate tap at 608 Kewanna Dr.
?
All CSO gates were greased and exercised.
?
Crew cleaned 150’ at alley of 720 Fulton Dr.
?
Crew put deodorizer in C/B all down Spring St. to odor.

All lift stations floats, switches, pumps, alarms and electrical, mechanical
components were cleaned, exercised and inspected for proper operations.

Generators at Mill Creek, Spring St. and 10 St. were operated, inspected
and exercised for proper operation.

Crew pulled pump #3 out at 10 St. the impeller came loose took to
Spencer’s for repair.
?
Crew pulled pumps 1 & 2 at Crums Lane #2 removed rags tested and put
back on line.
?
Crews had to pull both pumps at Colonial Park station pumps full of
debris, tested put back on line.
?
Crew pulled pump 2 out of filtrate station in plant for repairs.
?
Crew pulled pump 1 apart at Mill Creek station to remove debris tested
and put back on line.

Crew cleaned transducer and still well in 10 St. wet well.
?
Crew cleaned transducer and still well in Ashley Springs wet well.
?
Bar screens were cleaned as needed.
Repairs made in the collection system
?
Vehicle maintenance put a new radiator in one of the sludge trucks.
?
Vehicle maintenance put new air cylinder for brakes on one of the sludge
trucks.
?
Crew installed both new rebuilt pumps 1 & 2 in Scum Pit at the plant.
?
Crew installed new power supply on Scada Alarm system at Georgia
Crossing.
?
Crew installed a ladder rack on boom truck.
?
Crew installed a new circuit board on the overhead door at the Press
Room in plant.
?
Crew installed a new main breaker on Aerator #1 in plant.
?
Crew changed out 2 floats in Happy Valley stations wet well.
