CorporatIon Monthly Report 1996 August 16,1996 C. Richard Spencer, Jr. City of Jeffersonville City ICounty Building Jeffersonville, IN. 47130 Dear Dick: ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CORPORATION 689 CRAIG ROAD ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI 63141 314-432-8070 FAX 432-6517 Enclosed please find Environmental Management Corporation's (EMC) "Operations Report" for the montl1of July 1996, containing information on the following: 1.0 Effluent Quality 2.0 Facility Operations 2.1 Pretreatment 3.0 Preventive and Unscheduled Maintenance 3.1 Maintenance & Repair Expenditures 3.2 Repair & Replacement Expenditures 3.3 Capital Improvement Expenditures 3.4 Electrical Expenditures 4.0 Facility Safety and Training 5.0 Sewer Collection System As always, we appreciate the opportunity to be of service to the City of Jeffersonville, and we are available to discuss this report, or any other aspect of our operations, at the convenience of the City. Sincerely, ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CORPORATION .~)~ Kendall S. Coleman Facilities Manager KSC:dmk .I r l 1.0 EFFLUENT QUALITY During July, effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits for CBOD and TSS concentrations. Table 1.1 summarizes the effluent quality data. Attachment A contains Time Series Plots of daily CBOD and TSS values. Table 1.1 EFFLUENT QUALITY n l-~ o Parameters Permit Limit Monthly Average mg/L mg/L Carbonaceous 15 4 Biochemical Oxygen Demand (CBOD) Total Suspended 18 6 Solids (TSS) Fecal Coliform 200 173 (Colonies/ 100 ml) Chlorine Residual .05 daily 0.02 Maximum Ammonia 1.5 .28 Flow 5.2 4.359 (MGD) 2.0 FACILITY OPERATIONS A list of septic haulers that discharged at the facility during the month of July is at the end of this report. During July the treatment processes performed excellent. The mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS) concentration has been reduced in preparation of draining the oxidation ditches for inspection. This should not have a significant impact on effluent quality. MOR JEFFERSONVILLE, IN 2.1 PRETREATMENT During July, Wyandot Inc. received a Notice of Violation (NOV) for exceeding their Oil & Grease (O&G) and pH discharge limits. The excursions were detected during investigative sampling conducted from July 20, 1996 through July 31, 1996. Wyandot has been asked to provide a report on how they plan to reduce O&G and pH concentrations limits in their effluent. We will continue to work with all industries, to ensure compliance with their industrial discharge permit limits. 3.0 PREVENTIVE AND UNSCHEDULED MAINTENANCE Preventive maintenance was performed on all equipment as scheduled in July. There were 28 unscheduled maintenance tasks performed. All were minor repairs except for: · Repair vactor truck hose. . Repair belt filter press pumps. . Replaced 6" gate valve on suction side at Camp Powers lift station. . Repaired #2 pump & welded door hinges at Mill Creek lift station. . Repaired #2 motor at Mill Creek lift station. . Replaced alarm system probe at Mill Creek lift station. . Repaired #1 motor & mounting pad at Sunset Mobile Horne Park lift station. A list of unscheduled maintenance work orders is included as Attachment. B. Maintenance and repair expenditures for the month of July are detailed in Attachment C. Table 3.1 represents the total amount expended in July, and for the year. Table 3.2 includes the same information for repair and replacement expenditures. Attachment D contains a detail of repair and replacement expenditures for the year. r; LJ MOR JEFFERSONVILLE, IN r- .,1 Table 3.1 MAINTENANCE & REPAIR EXPENDITURES Time Period Amount Budget (Over) Expended Under July $4,852 $4,200 $(652) Year-To-Date $13,179 $12,600 $(579) Table 3.2 REPAIR & REPLACEMENT EXPENDITURES [] LJ Time Period Amount Budget (Over) Expended Under July $2,532 $8,334 $5,802 Year-To-Date $16,070 $25,002 $8,932 ,..- I ~ l . 3.3 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT EXPENDITURES Attachment E details expected Capital Improvement expenditures for the contract period of May 1, 1996 through April 30, 1997.
