Executive Summary Monthly Operation and Maintenance Report October 2004 Following are summaries for operation and maintenance at the wastewater treatment plant, and maintenance of the collection system and lift stations for the month of October 2004. rill!!! >- >- >- r- >- >- >- >- >- Effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits. There were no violations during the month. Settleable solids averaged 359 for the month, slightly down from the previous month. There were 19 wet days (defined as a day having at least 0.1 inch of rainfall and three days afterward) resulting in an average plant flow of 6.23 MGD, and 12 dry days with an average flow of 4.11 MGD. The percentages of design flow for the plant were 119.8% wet weather and 79% dry weather average. The total average influent flow for the month was 5.41 MGD, which is 104% of design. The facility received an average influent BOD loading of 8,607.82 this is 81.3% of the design. The facility received an average influent TSS of 11,695.9Ibs/day; this is 115.7% of the design. The facility received an average influent Ammonia of 592 Ibs/day, this is 68.3% of the design The maximum rainfall event during the month was on October 18 at2.75". The high TSS reading on the fourteenth was due to the RAS line being overloaded, therefore causing the solids to run out ofthe scum troughs in the chlorine contact tanks. We have been discussing the possibility of installing valves on each.ofthe scum lines. Pretreatment II >- Annual sampling was preformed on Indiana-American during the month. >- Per IDEM Pretreatment audit, most permits were re-written. >- Industrial environmental contacts at AL TEC, Brinly-Hardy and Indiana-American have ceased employment over the last month >- Visit were made to all the aforementioned industries during the monthto insure that all provisions of their permits were understood and still being carried out. Lift stations and Collection System In month of October collection crews made 21 sewer calls 19 being residents or other problems and 2 being in the city's main lines, with minor damage to a vacant residency. . 604 Roma Dr., the realtor found minor damage in basement from floor drain, had no sewer calls on that street. . 811 Springdale Dr. crews cleaned 150' removed build up of solids from c/o out to main line. . 820 E. Feel free to write comments next to or near the item. If in compliance, leave blank. Ifnot applicable to the plant (some items may not be), write N/A ("Not Applicable") on the line. Count up the total number of "Not Applicable" items. Subtract the "Not Applicable" from the "Total Possible" points. This will give you the "Adjusted Total". Subtract the number of "Not in Compliance" from the "Adjusted Total". This gives you the total "In Compliance". Divide the number of "In Compliance" by the "Adjusted Total" to give the "Total Percent".
