Effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits. There were no violations during the month. Settleable solids averaged 292 for the month. Keep in mind we are approaching the time of year when the settleable solids starts to rise. We will continue to try and figure out what causes and what might help the situation. There were 25 wet days (defined as a day having at least 0.1 inch of rainfall and three days afterward) resulting in an average plant flow of 5.61 MGD, and 6 dry days with an average flow of 4.73 MGD. The percentages of design flow for the plant were 107.9%wet weather and 90.9% dry weather average. The total average influent flow for the month was 5.43 MGD, which is 104.4% of design. The facility received an average influent BOD loading of9,643 this is 91.1 % of the design. The facility received an average influent TSS of 10,062.8 Ibs/day; this is 99.5% of the design. The facility received an average influent Ammonia of 538 Ibs/day, this is62.05% of the design The maximum rainfall event during the month was on August 26 at .95". Pretreatment ~ Annual sampling was preformed on Steel Dynamics during the month. ~ Annual inspections was preformed on Steel Dynamics during the month. ~ Natalie Green with IDEM preformed an Pretreatment audit during the month. 1. A few of the topics in her report were, Three of the industries in the city need to have production based limits in their permit - We are in the process of redoing all permits at this time. 2. Slug/Spill control plans need to be submitted by each industry - this will be in each new permit. 3. pH sampling should be preformed onsite at each industry - completed. . Lift stations and Collection System ...... i~ ~ We cleaned 3,030 feet of sanitary sewer (32,408 feet/contract YTD) and 8,261 feet of storm/CSO sewer (28,662 feet/contract YTD). A copy of the Safety Inspection Report is included as Attachment G. 6.0 SEWER COLLECTION SYSTEM AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE In month of August collection crews made 23 sewer calls; 22 being the residents' responsibility and 1 being the city's responsibility. At 904 Fulton Street, crews cleaned 35' to remove solids buildup; with no damage incurred by the resident. There was 1,553' oftelevising that was conducted by crews in different areas of the city to identify three damaged catchbasins, feeding and or damaged lines, and the location of 10 taps. Safety equipment was set up on 10th Street to retrieve a manhole casting and cover out of the sewer system. 3 Jeffersonville Wastewater Treatment Facility Monthly Operations Report Crews completed the following during our street pre-maintenance schedule: . Trouble spots totaling 6,075' of sewers cleaned inthe city. . Twelve catchbasins tops were cleaned off throughout the down town areas. . Fifteen catchbasins were cleaned and vactored throughout the city. . Eight manholes were cleaned out due to build up solids. . Four wetwells were vactored out due to solids and grease build up with the other stations not yet needing cleaned. . RAS station in the plant was vactored out. . Crews also cleaned 50' of storm drainage beneath two driveways at 420 Thompson Lane. . Crews cleaned and vactored 5,485' throughout neighborhoods and downtown. . C.S.O. gates were greased and exercised. Crews completed the following during our lift station pre-maintenance schedule: ~ t i LJ . Floats, switches, pumps, alarms and mechanical and electrical components were cleaned, inspected and exercised for proper operations. . Floats were lowered at Happy Valley and River Shores lift stations to help reduce smell and the possibility of sewage becoming septic due to low volume of flow. . Generators were inspected and exercised. . Bar screens were cleaned at 10th Street as needed. . Bug spraying, house keeping, grass mowing and weed eating were done as needed. . The maintenance building and company vehicles were cleaned on a weekly basis. . New stainless steel pump guide rails were installed at Golfview and Crums #2 lift stations. . Repairs were made to the 10" jet head. . A check valve at Powerhouse was repaired. . A new radiator was put in the generator at spring Street lift station. . Switched pump #2 out with another pump at Ceaderview station. . Replaced a stop float at Ewing Lane lift station. . Repaired the flapper in the check valve at Rivershores lift station. . Repaired fence at Golfview lift station. . Installed new flex tube onto the top of Mack vactor truck. . Feel free to write comments next to or near the item. If in compliance, leave blank. If not applicable to the plant (some items may not be), write N/A ("Not Applicable") on the line. Count up the total number of "Not Applicable" items. Subtract the "Not Applicable" from the "Total Possible" points. This will give you the "Adjusted Total". Subtract the number of "Not in Compliance" from the "Adjusted Total". This gives you the total "In Compliance". Divide the number of "In Compliance" by the "Adjusted Total" to give the "Total Percent". .......
