Executive Summary
Monthly Operation and Maintenance Report
May 2005
Following are summaries for operation and maintenance at the wastewater treatment plant, and
maintenance of the collection system and lift stations for the month of May, 2005
Plant
)> Effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits, except for one excursion for e-coli on May 19,
due to possible contamination of sample container, along with 3.5" of rain during the twenty-four
hour period.
)> Settleable solids averaged 348 for the month, which continues to trend d.own.
)> There were 13 wet days (defined as a day having at least 0.1 inch of rainfall and three days
afterward) resulting in an average plant flow of 6.60 MGD, and 18 dry days with an average flow
of 5.11 MGD. The percentages of design flow for the plant were 127% wet weather and 98.3%
dry weather average. The total average influent flow for the month was 5.75 MGD, which is
III % of design.
)> The facility received an average influent BOD loading of 11,881.91 this is 112.3% ofthe design.
)> The facility received an average influent TSS of 10,559.2 Ibs/day; this is 104.5% of the design.
)> The facility received an average influent Ammonia of643.3 Ibs/day, this is 74.2% of the design
)> The maximum rainfall event during the month was on May 19 at 3.5".
)> Modifications and new impeller installation have been completed on two of the RAS pumps; the
third one is in the pump at the time of this report.
)> The number 1 clarifier was removed from service, due to a failure with the band on the center
column. The new band has been ordered and will be installed as soon as it arrives.
Pretreatment
)> Yearly industrial sampling was conducted at Cargo Clean and the Dallas Group during the month.
)> Yearly inspections were made at Dallas Group and Philadelphia Quartz during the month.
)> We met with the plant manager at Cargo Clean during the month to discuss their requirements for
bi-yearly monitoring ofTTO's.
)> Orsanco has expressed interest in conducting further river analysis.

If the plant is not in compliance with the item listed put a checkmark on the line
next to the item listed. Feel free to write comments next to or near the item. Ifin
compliance, leave blank. If not applicable to the plant (some items may not be),
write N/A ("Not Applicable") on the line. Count up the total number of "Not
Applicable" items. Subtract the "Not Applicable" from the "Total Possible"
points. This will give you the "Adjusted Total". Subtract the number of "Not in
Compliance" from the "Adjusted Total". This gives you the total "In
Compliance". Divide the number of "In Compliance" by the "Adjusted Total" to
give the "Total Percent".
