Fax: 812-285-6454 www.emcinc.com EXECUTIVE SUMMARY MONTHLY OPE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY MONTHLY OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE REPORT September, 2006 r-- Following are summaries for operation and maintenance at the wastewater treatment plant, and maintenance of the collection system and lift stations for the month of September, 2006 Plant f t . - , ~ Effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits. ~ Removal percentages for the month, BOD 97.4%, TSS 95.7%, and NH3 99.5%. ~ Settleable solids averaged 243 for the month, stability of Settleable solids is excellent at this time. ~ There were 21 wet days (defined as a day having at least 0.1 inch of rainfall and three days afterward) resulting in an average plant flow of 6.97 MGD, and 9 dry days with an average flow of 4.43 MGD. The percentages of design flow for the plant were 116.0% wet weather and 73.8% dry weather average. The total average influent flow for the month was 6.793 MGD, which is 113.1 % of design. ~ The facility received an average influent BOD loading of 11,396.2 Ibs/day, this is 103.7% of the design. ~ The facility received an average influent TSS of 9,972.2 Ibs/day; this is 72.4% of the design. ~ The facility received an average influent Ammonia of 619.8 Ibs/day, this is 60.2% of the design ~ The maximum rainfall event during the month was on July 14 &21 at 1.25". ~ Contractors are re-doing some of the grading and seeding around the oxidation ditches. _. I I . Pretreatment ~ Annual composite samples were taken at Steel Dynamics and Voss Clark. Lift stations and Collection System ; Lift stations and collection system . Crews cleaned 6,720 ft. of sanitary sewers. (YTD 46730 ft) . Crews cleaned 9,350 ft. of storml CSO sewers. (YTD 39147 ft) . Crews televised 790 ft. of sewer lines. (YTD 8242 ft) . All 23 trouble spots were cleaned and or checked during the month. . Crews cleaned 2 C/B tops. . Crews conducted I dye test in the collection system. Crews televised some lines and M/H at Veterans Pkwy for JTL. . Crews did a emergency locate at 8th and Fulton St. for Gas Company. . Crews stuck camera in M/H at Utica-Sellersburg Rd. for Jerry C. and Excel Contractors. . Crews went to lazy Boy to locate tap for Jerry C. tap came into M/H by building. . Crews tried to televise line at 1024 Nachand Lane. to locate tap for Jerry c. flow to heavy. Collection crews street pre-maintenance schedule . Crews cleaned and vactored 1,050' on Riverside Dr. Rocky's to Kingfish. . Crews cleaned and vactored 1,200' of the PQ's discharge line. . Crews cleaned and vactored 790' of the Dallas Corp. discharge line. . Crews cleaned and vactored 3,250' of the Market St. Interceptor line. . Crews cleaned 1,120' of sewer lines throughout the city. . Trouble spot list was completed 7,290' of sewer lines cleaned and vactored. . A crew vactored out 8 wet wells due to the build up of grease and solids. . CSO gates were greased and exercised. . Grass at the lift stations were cut as needed. . Crews cleaned the tops of 2 C/B. . Crews televised 224' at 624 Kewanna Dr. to locate tap for resident marked in green. . Crews televised 470' at corner of Slone and Crum's lane to determine backup and to make sure roots were cut out. Collection crews station pre-maintenance schedule . All lift stationsfloats, switches, pumps, alarms, electrical and mechanical components were cleaned, exercised, and inspected for proper operations. . Generators at 10th St., Mill Creek, and Spring St. were operated, inspected, and exercised for proper operations. . Crews installed new gate valve at Silver Creek station. . Crews installed repaired check valve in Silver Creek station. . Crews installed repaired val ute in Silver Creek station. . Crews installed rebuilt pump and motor in Silver Creek station. . Crews back flushed pump # I at Mill Creek 2 times. . Crews cleaned the pod out at Cedar view station. . Crews opened pump # I at Louise St removed rags put back on line. . Crews pulled pump # I at High Meadows #2 removed rags put back on line. . Bar screens were cleaned as needed. . Crews greased pumps and drive shafts at Magnolia and Louise St. stations. . Crews worked with Delta electric at Louise St pulled both motors off pumps to have them baked out. . Crews worked with Delta electric to install both motors on pumps at Louise St. got station back on line. Repairs made in the collection system . Crew took roller off press took to be repaired. . Crews took both motors off pumps at Louise St for bearings and to be baked out. . The check valve, valute, pump and motor were rebuilt and repaired on # I at Silver Creek. . Bought new gate valve for Silver Creek station # I pump. . ~ . Crews cleaned and vactored 2,444' of main sewer line and 4 M/H at Lentzier Trace so a contractor could televise for Mike L. . Crews cleaned and vactored 70' of storm line on Bishop Lane so city could repair, for Jim S. . Crews cleaned 10' at 1712 Herby from the residents repair out to main line for EXCEL contracting. . Crews cleaned 200' so crew could televise 54' to locate tap at 204 Magnolia for Jerry C. . Crews televised 100' from C/O out to main at 2604 Bishop Lane, for Jim S. . Crews televised 200' at lot 426 Idol Dice and Ole Tay Bridge to locate tap for Jerry C. Collection crews street pre-maintenance schedule . Trouble spot list was completed 7,565' of sewer lines cleaned and vactored. . A crew vactored out 1 wet well due to solids and the build up of grease. . Grass at the lift stations was cut as needed. . CSO gates were greased and exercised. . Crews cleaned and vactored 1,600' on Riverside Dr. from Rocky's to Kingfish down Riverpointe Dr. . Crews cleaned and vactored 600' on Magnolia Ave. . Crews cleaned and vactored 400' on Burnside Dr. . Crews cleaned and vactored 3,600' of the Market St. Interceptor from A.B.L.C. to Main St. . Crews televised 298' at 3518 Hamburg Pike to check line for damage. . Crews televised 81' at 2710 Hampton Dr. to check lateral tap for resident. . Crews televised 80' at 2717 Hampton Dr. to check lateral tap found line damaged called Jim S. with city for repairs. Collections crews station pre-maintenance schedule . All lift stations floats, switches, pumps, alarms, electrical and mechanical components were cleaned exercised and inspected for proper operation. . Generators at 10th St., Mill Creek and Spring St. were operated, inspected and exercised for proper operation. . Crews calibrated the Amp, Voltage and Frequency Meters on the generator in the plant. . Bar screens were cleaned as needed. . EMC bought a service agreement with Nixon Power Services to service and evaluate all the generators in the system. . Crews pulled pump #2 at Mill Creek was full of rags tested put back on line. r ~ Page 4 t'- . Crews worked several days at the Silver Creek station because while trying to repair a check valve while they had a pump out for repairs, the gate valve failed on the force main side which in turn engulfed the station. Repairs made in the collection system . Crews installed new rebuilt pump #5 in a 10th St. tested and put on line. . Utility truck had a new starter installed and clutch adjustment. . Crew took TV van to Mt Sterling to have camera worked on. . Lawn mower had new pulley, blades, and tires. . Crew took sludge truck to Tow Zone for a tarp motor. . Crew installed rebuilt pump # I at Spring St. tested and put on line. . Crew took dodge truck to vehicle maintenance wiring shorted out had to replace some wiring. ,..- i ~ - ~ I , r ,..- , .. Jeffersonville Wastewater Treatment Facility Monthly Operations Report 1.0 EFFLUENT QUALITY ,..- , ! ..... During September, effluent quality was within NPDES permit limits for CBOD, TSS and NH-3. Table 1.1 summarizes the effluent quality data. Attachment A contains Time Series Plots of Carbonaceous Biochemical Oxygen Demand (CBOD) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) values. All parameters were will within IDEM limits. Average influent flow was 98.1 % of plant design capacity. Removal rates for the r- I ~ 1 Jeffersonville Wastewater Treatment Facility MO'!thly Operations Report month were BOD removal - 97.9%, TSS removal - 96.5%, Ammonia removal- 99.5%. New belts were ordered for both filter presses. Plant water pump was replaced. 3.1 PRETREATMENT Pretreatment activities for the month included the following: . Annual inspections were made at Altec and Brinly-Hardy. .
