OF THE MAYOR OF THE
CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
An Order to Changin~
Street Name in Buttonwood Subdivision
Pursuant to I.C. 36-7-405
WHEREAS, the Indiana General Assembly has authorized the city's executive to
name or rename street;
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville does not have an ordinance that the
planning commission rather than the executive has the authority to name or rename
streets;
WHEREAS, there has been confusion as to the official name of certain street in
the Buttonwood Subdivision as to whether the street is "Ashwood Drive" or "Ashwood
Court";
WHEREAS, all streets shall be named or renamed so that their names are easy to
understand and to avoid duplication or conflict with other names; and
WHEREAS, it is necessaw to rename "Ashwood Drive" to avoid confusion for
residents and visitors;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA, THAT:
The street in Buttonwood Subdivision in the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana
named "Ashwood Drive" is hereby renamed Ashwood Court .
2. A copy of this order shall be delivered to the following:
The circuit court clerk;
The administrator of the enhanced 9-1-1 system serving the
affected area;
The United States Postal Service; and
Any person or body that the Director of Planning and Zoning for
the City of Jeffersonville considers appropriate.
3. This Order shall become effective from and after the date of its adoption.
