TERMS OF AGREEMENT:
The contractor chosen agrees to the following:
• Providing services of a guest teaching artist during monthly,middle school aged children's
art classes. This is to include the following:
-10 painting classes.(one day month) during the year of 2021
Lead artist is to provide paints/brushes/palettes/easels/canvas for each student
-Handling registration for classes (via email)
-Creating supplemental art history material for each painting lesson
-At least three meetings with Emily Dippie(JPAA)-these meetings are to generate&coordinate ideas of the
painting curriculum for the 2021 season,solidify plans of working with students,and talk about logistics of
the space as well as reflect on previous sessions.
-Artist is to use appropriate paint and supplies with students
-Consider safety of students/self/others and structures throughout the time of instruction.
The City will provide:
-Use of the mixed use area in the NoCo Arts Center for children's painting classes
-Use of the mixed use area for guest artist to use as a studio space
-Promotion for artist's classes on various forums
-Social media promotion for artist and classes
-Additional supplies for classes if available
The attendance of a city representative or JPAC member at at least 3 classes during the year for documentation
observation,and support to the guest teaching artist.
• The stipend will be a total of$1,000 to be paid out of the Jeffersonville Public Art Fund,paid in
advance of services rendered in order to cover costs of the program..
• The expectation is the artist will be involved in pre-planning,prepping painting space,student
instruction and clean up.The contractor agrees that if the expectations of this contract are not
fulfilled that they must refund the total stipend amount at the end of the 2021 year.
• Provide the city with a W9 (PublicArtAdmin will email this to you ifyou do not have one readily
available)
INDEMNIFICATION:
Contractor agrees to indemnify and hold the City of Jeffersonville and its officers,agents,and employees,
harmless from all suits,claims,or damages,including reasonable attorney's fees arising out of or resulting
from activities under this agreement conducted by Contractor or Contractor's agents.The provisions of
this section shall survive the expiration or earlier termination of this agreement.
