Ed Zastawny called the meeting to order at 5:40 pm.

Approval of minutes from November 18, 2019—
Motion by Susan Harrison, 2nd by Deb Henderson—all voted to approve
Update on Jack's timeline for completing the long range plan
-Dawn provided a timeline for the final goals of completing tasks for the final Long Range Plan. We will also be
adding maps and a parking plan to the document. Additional visuals will also be added to the plan. Dawn will be
presenting the plan to the Redevelopment Commission, Public Art Commission, and the City Council.
Update on sculpture trail installation
-Dawn directed the Commission's attention to the three sculpture pieces that are currently stored in the Art
Center. The goal is to have them installed within the next week.
Update on Circum(paddle wheel sculpture)light maintenance
-All of the lights have been replaced, and metal screens have been added to keep bugs out but allow for
ventilation. One light is still not working, but will be replaced soon.
New Business
"Name that plan"as in....let's put a name to the 2020 public Art Program Plan!
-Dawn listed the names of previous years'names. Deb suggested "Actuation", the art of propelling. Rosy
suggested "Soar". Denise suggested "Ignite"and"Amplify", "Accelerate", "Flourish", "Blossom", "Intensify", "Amplify",
"Cultivate" It was decided that the Commission would vote on the name later in the meeting.
Review Website Progress
-Dawn provided an update of the new website. It has not been published yet, but will be soon.
Review(draft)artist&tenant agreements for NoCo Arts Center
-Dawn walked the Commission through the particulars of a 4-page handout that details the studio offerings, the
programming in the NoCo Art Center, and how to apply for a studio space. Dawn intends to make the Applications live on
January 6th, and leave them up until February 3rd.A discussion ensued among the Commissioners regarding the contents
of the Call for Artists. Many suggestions were offered for additions, modifications, and ideas.
John McCarthy made the motion,Susan Harrison seconded, and all voted unanimously to require that Resident Artists
attend at least four(4)Community Events.
Dawn also stated that the Christmas Card Calligraphy event was this past Friday night, and we had exactly the number of
people attend that we were set up for
Upcoming
-Please do not lose the equity notes(pink folder)we will visit that again after the new year
-SWAG homework.... If you have time,please do a bit of research on interesting "swag"ideas for public art and NoCo
related activities,pieces, and events. Dawn gave examples of Jeffersonville Art-related coloring pages for a Jeffersonville
Art Coloring Book.
Commissioner Comments:
Ed Z.—Swag,branded socks! Also,Ed asked about rotating the art pieces around the City. He also suggested having a
tour to highlight art pieces around the City for City Officials,and also for the general public.
Paul Northam—This is his last meeting,and he thanked the Commission and wished everyone luck in the future.
Deb Henderson—Also her last meeting,and stated she was pleased and honored to have served as a Commissioner.
She is grateful for Josh Rodriquez appointing her to the commission.
Dawn handed out JPAC 2019 albums to each of the Commissioners.
Motion to adjourn by John McCarthy.Seconded by Kofi Darku. Motion passed unanimously.
