ROLL CALL:The roll call conducted and those present were President Spalding, Commissioner Futz- Brown,Commissioner Dyson, and Commissioner McCormick.Commissioner Smith Excused GUEST: Assistant Chief Bruce DeArk,Joe Hurt, President Local Union 558 MINUTES: Minutes for Regular Proceedings July 11, 2019 Commissioner McCormick made the motion to APPROVE the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Dyson, passing on a vote of 4-0 APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to ACCEPT Agenda as present by President Spalding, seconded by Commissioner McCormick, passing on a vote 4-0. CLAIMS: Assistant Chief DeArk presented two claims for Ascension St.Vincent Public Safety Medical In the amounts of$1,374.68 and $1,303.72 for testing TOTAL-$2,678.40 UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None at this time NEW BUSINESS: None at this time ATTORNEY REPORT: None at this time REPORT FROM LOCAL 558 UNION: Mr. Hurt reported the Human Relations Committee had met and the HR Department is close to getting the application process on line and with the new process, no application be submitted that is incomplete. Mr. Hurt also brought to the attention of the Commission of the Drug Policy does not address the use of CBD Oils and the random testing great possibility of showing up on a drug test that could cause a disciplinary hearing through the Commission. Attorney Stewart stated he would look at the existing Drug Policy of the City and research state and federal legislation on this issue. REPORT ADMINISTRATION JFD CHIEF: Assistant Chief DeArk reported six(6)of the seven (7) new hires will official date is August 5, 2019 with the seventh (7th) awaiting the signature of the Medical Doctor for INPRES. FIRE MERIT COMMISSION COMMENTS: None at this time ADJOURNMENT: With no further business before the Commission, Commissioner McCormick mad the motion to ADJOURN,seconded by Commissioner Dyson.
