Attendees: Absent: Guests: Dawn Spyker Paul Northam Nathan Samuel Ed Zastawny Leslie Lewis Richard Eklund John McCarthy Rosy Callahan Jack Becker Susan Harrison Andy Crouch Deborah Henderson Heather Rapp Denise Freville Abigail Goforth Kofi Darku Jeanne Burke John Riley Cara Burton Susan Stewart Nathan Pruitt Approval of minutes from March 11, 2019 — Motion by Deborah Henderson, 2nd by Denise Freville —all voted to approve New Business Upcoming Events Dawn updated the Commission on upcoming events in April. -April 9-11, Elementary Art Show—John gave a short summary and invited all to attend. -April 20, Mosaic JAM Session, loam—2pm -April 26, Shakespeare at Picasso Pointe, 5:00pm— 8:30pm Grant Awarded Dawn updated the Commission on the status of submitted grants. A $5000 grant has been awarded to create a video of the NoCo District. This video will be shared on websites and social media. It will be 'owned' by the JPAC and the Soln Tourism Bureau. Utility Box Project Dawn updated the Commission on the Utility Box painting projects. Calls to artists will be going live this month. Press releases will be put out by Dawn. John McCarthy stated that he'd had an artist ask if they could request their box location. After some discussion, the Commission decided that any artist could request a location, but that the final location would be decided by the Commission. Black Box Mural (to begin June 2019) Dawn stated that the mural would start in June. Sculpture Artist in Residence Dawn updated the Commission on Bryan Somerville's recent visit to Jeffersonville. Bryan was on location on March 20th to view the Art Center space and the proposed site location for installation. Dawn gave a short summary of the art pieces that we have been discussing with Bryan. Commissioner Comments: Susan is excited about Bryan coming. Public Comments: Nathan Samuel stated that he was happy to be back. Meeting was adjourned so that Jack Becker, our Long Range Planning Consultant, could make a presentation to the Commissioners and Guests in attendance.
