FIRE MERIT COMMISSION
The Jeffersonville Fire Merit Commission held a Regular Meeting on Thursday, July 5,
2018 in the first floor Conference Room, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN.

Jeff Frey—Secretary
Bernie Horvath—Board Member
Thomas Spalding—Board Member
Nathan Masingo —Attorney
Connie Conen—Recording Secretary

CALL TO ORDER:
Mr. Monohan called the meeting to order at 6:0PM. Mr. Frey and Mr. Spalding were
absent.
BUSINESS:
- Ms. Barrow made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 7, 2018 meeting;
Mr. Horvath,NThe motion was passed unanimously.
- There was a recap of the 2018 application/written test for new applicants. 300
applications were picked up; 200 were returned and 155 took the written test. 29
candidates will move forward to oral interviews which will be held on 7/182018
at Fire Headquarters. All Commissioners have agreed to be present for the
interviews. All scores will be calculated by IPSP and the 2018 list may be ready
for certification in August.
- There have been no changes for the Promotional Testing that will be held in
October.
- Mr. Hurt recapped that an applicant with military and who has submitted a
DD214 will be given 1 point to their score; The scores will be 40% from the
written test and 60% from the oral interviews.
Adjournment:
- Ms. Barrow made a motion to adjourn; Mr. Horvath seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at 6:15.
