FIRE MERIT COMMISSION
The Jeffersonville Fire Merit Commission held a Regular Meeting on Thursday, March 1,
2018 in the first floor Conference Room, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN.
Kent Monohan—President
Patricia Barrow—Vice President
Jeff Frey—Secretary
Bernie Horvath—Board Member
Thomas Spalding—Board Member
Nathan Masingo —Attorney
Connie Conen—Recording Secretary
GUESTS: 6 Fire Fighters
CALL TO ORDER:
Mr. Monohan called the meeting to order at 6:00PM. All Commissioners were Present.
BUSINESS:
- The Open Meeting was called to order at 6:00. Mr. Frey made a motion to
approve the minutes of the February 1, 2018 meeting; Mr. Horvath seconded.
The motion was passed unanimously.
- Mr. Masingo made all discussed corrections to the 2018 Fire Fighter Application.
Mr. Frey made a motion to accept the application; Ms. Barrow seconded. The
motion was passed unanimously.
- Mr. DeArk will check on the availability of using Jeff High for the new applicant
written test; Ms. Conen will verify that the Ken Ellis Center is available.
- Chief Hedrick had sent all Commissioners a recommendation for Permanent
Assignment for A. Knerr effective 3/1/2018; P. Finch effective 3/2/2018; L.
Coward effective 3/3/2018 to the rank of Firefighter 2nd class. Mr. Horvath made
the motion to accept this recommendation; Mr. Frey seconded. The motion was
passed unanimously.
Adjournment:
- Mr. Frey made a motion to adjourn; Mr. Horvath seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at 6:15.
