FIRE DEPARTMENT MERIT COMMISSION

The Jeffersonville Fire Department Merit Commission held a Regular Meeting on
Thursday, October 6, 2011 in the Second Floor Conference Room, 500 Quartermaster
Court, Jeffersonville, IN. The following were present:
David Martin - President
Jeff Frey — Board Member
Bobby Ervin -Board Member
Ron Glass, Vice President
Lynn Ackermon
Drew Adams, Attomcy
CALL TO ORDER:
Mr. Martin called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
MINUTES:
Mr. Martin presented minutes for meetings held on August 18, 2011 and September 1,
2011. Mr. Frey made a change to the "Next Meetings: September 15 should have read
September 12, 2011. Mr. Glass made a motion to approve the minutes for August 18,
2011 and September 1, 2011 as corrected. Mr. Ackermon seconded. Motion passed
unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS:
Mr. Martin reported that ID badges have been ordered. These are needed so the radios
can be carried in cars.
Evaluations and promotion dates for all fire fighters have been requested again from
the Fire Chief.
NEW BUSINESS:
Mr. Martin reported that all fire fighters are responsible for their own promotion
material to qualify for promotion, such as rules and procedures.
The date for testing for new two year appointments will be in June. Promotions will
be discussed every 2 years at the same time.

ADJOURNMENT:
Mr. Martin asked if there was any additional business. Hearing none Mr. Glass made
a motion to adjoum the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 PM.
